Why the site?

Quantum Overland was started in 2014 to share information about the general topic of “overlanding”.  However, as the term overlanding became more and more commercial, to the point of ridiculousness, in 2017 we migrated our content over to Evergreen Adventures.  The goal was to bring the focus more on the core of how and why families should spend more time outside.

While this may mean something different to each person, overall, the core is the same, getting outside and doing stuff.  I have been doing this type of activity for the past 20 years, long before the term overlanding became the hot topic that it now is.  In that time I have learned that you don’t need an $80k rig, or $20k in gear just to go have fun and spend quality time with family and friends.  I guarantee nobody will ever remember that night you sat on the couch and watched some run-of-the-mill crappy TV show, but the memory of the trip to WV to go hiking with your wife and kids will stay with you for all your, and their, days.

With this site I hope to share our experiences, as well as offer some opinion and advice to help you make the best use of your time and money, two things we all never seem to have enough of.  So follow us and enjoy what we have to offer.  Hopefully I will be able to bring something to my readers that they wouldn’t have otherwise had.

See you on the trails!
